Frequently Asked Questions

Rent As Buddy is a strictly platonic companionship platform. Book verified companions ("Buddies") by the hour or as a package for everyday activities — coffee, meals, city tours, gaming, gym sessions, weddings/events as a plus-one, hiking and more. It is not a dating, matchmaking or escort service, and any romantic, sexual or non-platonic solicitation is prohibited and will result in a permanent ban.

You must be 18 years or older to register or book. We confirm your date of birth at sign-up, and Buddies additionally complete identity (KYC) verification before they can be booked.

1. Search by city, activity or interest (you can filter to verified Buddies only). 2. Open a profile to see their rate, packages and reviews. 3. Choose hourly or a package, pick a date/time and a public meeting place, and confirm it's platonic. 4. Pay securely to confirm. You can share a private link with a friend so they know your plans.

You pay the full amount upfront through our secure payment gateway. Buddies set an hourly rate and/or fixed-price packages (e.g. a 3-hour wedding plus-one). The platform retains a service commission; the remainder is the Buddy's earning. You always pay inside the platform — never send money directly to a Buddy.

Add your bank account / UPI details under Dashboard → Manage Payout Details. After a booking is paid, your share (your rate minus the platform commission) is tracked in your earnings as a pending payout. Payouts are currently settled manually by our team to your registered account; we'll automate this as we scale.

Only ID-verified Buddies can be booked; every booking requires confirming a public meeting place; you can report or block anyone; you can add an emergency contact; and each booking has a shareable link so someone you trust knows where you are. See our Safety page.

Register (or edit your profile) and enable "I want to be listed as a Buddy", set your city, activities, rate/packages and availability, then complete identity verification. Once verified, you'll appear in search and can accept bookings.

A Buddy can accept or decline a request. If a confirmed booking is cancelled more than 24 hours before the start time, you're eligible for a full refund of the amount paid. Within 24 hours, a partial fee may apply to compensate the Buddy for the reserved time. Refunds are returned to your original payment method.

Correct. Rent As Buddy is for platonic companionship only. We do not facilitate dating, matchmaking, or any non-platonic arrangement. Treat every Buddy with respect — exactly as you would a new friend in a public setting.
